“I appreciate your work and efforts!”
This is not a cliche. It is a fundamental human need. It’s necessary in all relationships personal and professional. Being valued and appreciated fosters a positive sence of self-worth. When good work is recognized and appreciated motivation and inspiration to work more increases and accordingly production rasises too.
This morning a genuine note of appreciation from my client whose son I teach Arabic invigorated and inspired me. The father wrote how his son (C.B) enjoys my material and how quickly he is learning from them. And that (C.B) is really looking forward to 5:30 on Fridays to meet me online to have fun learning Arabic.
I can’t express enough how great I feel. I feel strong physically and mentally. I feel hopeful. The morning seems sunny, despite the fact that when I look out of the window it’s gray with clouds. So this feeling of being appreciated can change and reframe the outlook on everything around and the negative may look positive.
What power appreciation has on us!!!
I found on the internet the following benefits of showing appreciation:
- opens the door to more relationships. …
- improves physical health. …
- improves psychological health. …
- enhances empathy and reduces aggression. …
- makes you sleep better …
- improves self-esteem. …
- increases mental strength
Do you know that the concept of the likes of social media is based on the principle of showing appreciation and it is addictive. Simply because it’s a fundamental human need.
Very nice post Rajaa. Showing appreciation and receiving appreciation makes the world go round!
